Well, looking at Jai's latest meme thing I got curious and decided to go back and see what my first post was! Surprisingly, I made it a whole year after Jai did o.O; weird...dunno what happened there. Not surprisingly, it went something like this:

Well, who knows if the guy did bad things or if he was just misunderstood.. he made good music. Really good music. I just remember being little and holding my first little Walkman tape player on the bus on the way to the Liberty Science Center for a school field trip, listening to his music the whole way. It's a good memory, and I guess it's a good way to remember the guy.

Soooo, here's a meme thing given to me by ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) flyboy_fox! I was given five words and I've gotta say what they mean to me, so here goes!

TMBG - Aaahh, They Might Be Giants. Not the most well known band in the world, at least not by name. I fist heard of them waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy back when I was little watching Tiny Toon Adventures and it featured two of their songs "Particle Man" and "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" in the form of music videos preformed by the characters in the show. My sister and I became obsessed for some reason and the rest was history. Their songs are totally weird and offbeat, their main instrument is an accordion, and they sing about things like prosthetic foreheads and little birdhouses in your soul. But most people have probably heard their music in the form of theme songs for things such as "Malcolm in the Middle", "The Daily Show", Dr. Evil's theme song in "The Spy Who Shagged Me", and they were originally signed to do all the music for the movie "Coraline" but ended up only doing one song ;_; they apparently weren't quite creepy enough.
Meerkats - Not gonna lie, Timon inspired my love for meerkats. But come on! Who couldn't help but love those guys!! They take turns as centuries and babysitters and as a rule, my favorite animals have awesome chillout poses:
  
Swoul floop - XD This is my stupidity. The essence of Jei's brain. Jai and I were in NYC waiting to get on a bus and I said, "quick, let's get on the bus or else the others will all rush in in one swoul floop. This combined the common mistake of thinking the saying is "foul swoop" instead of "fell swoop" with dyslexia of the tongue. And it has lived on in infamy ever since.
Belly buttons - DON'T TOUCH MINE EVER! I'LL HURT YOU!!! I MEAN IT!
Batman - The goddamn Batman, that is. I've always loved Batman XD and I've always been very anti-Superman. I used to watch the animated series when I was little and I loved the 90s movies, I don't care what people say XD Batman Forever FOREVER! But the old 60s TV show is the BEST. And Bruce/Dick is the OTP. Nuff said. |

Dread report: Frizzy, with signs of end untangling. But still tight and hangin' in there!
I'm worried about my cat Mankay... he's been a hefty cat all his life. Not fat, just big and muscular and with a round belly as hard as a rock... and now he's suddenly lost so much weight. He still eats lots, but he drinks way too much, which is a warning sign for a lot of things. He's gotta be 15 years old now... he's an old cat and sometimes there's no helping that they get all sorts of problems in their old age. I wanna take him to the vet... but my mom says it's too expensive and that he still seems happy and healthy.. :\ she's kinda in denial about it I think. Or she knows they'll find out he has a tumor or something that we just don't have the money to treat. Either way... it's sad.
Hmm... what else? Oh yeah! My grandpa's knees are shot so today a guy is coming around to install one of those stair-lift machines... you know, the ones with a chair that just rides up the side of the stairs? Really weird. I will need to play with it.

In other news, I am VERY excited about a couple games debuted at E3 09 :D firstly, the new Sega racing game! GO TAILS!!!! ...ahem.

Since when did Keyboard Cat hit the mainstream? First I see a clip of the host on the M(Twighlight)V Movie awards say "Play us out, Keyboard Cat" at the end, then apparently Steven Colbert said it too? When did Keyboard Cat get that popular? What is this "Poker Face" song? Why do people here know about Susan Boyle? What's happened to America? o.O; You go away for 5 months and when you come back you hardly recognize the place. Sheesh!
Aaaanyway. I just want to say... STAR TREK RULES!! I saw it in England with Jai and just saw it again for the second time with my mom. It just... rocks. It's just everything you could have hoped for in a good, solid Star Trek movie. It FELT like a Star Trek movie. The characters were perfect and the whole thing was just visually amazing. It also reminded me a lot of the look in Farscape, my favorite sci-fi series. So yeah... loved it. And JJ Abrams is just proving himself to be a new Spielberg, in my opinion.
Speaking of sci-fi, I recently read Dune. My mom has been obsessed with the series since she was 13... she even had the license plate on her old car changed to "Dune" a few years back. I never gave it much of a chance until I saw a copy of it at Jai's house, picked it up, and just started reading. Wow. Just... wow. I loved it so much. The story is just so rich and deep... you can see how it's been the inspiration for so many sci-fi writers and film makers since. I have a few criticisms of course... (I won't discuss them until Jai's read the book :P) But yeah... definitely recommended to any sci-fi lover. It's epic in every sense of the word.
Okay, rambled on long enough. XD It's hard to see how I got of LJ for so long.. I really can write a lot about nothing. Later! |

Well, here I am. Posting in LJ after ten long years... boy, how things have changed!
okay... maybe it was more like one year, but I'm back, baby! :P
I've just got back from my long stay in England-- finished my first year of university! I love the course I'm doing... it's just awesome. Maybe I'll post some pics of my work at some point. We shall seeee... gotta say my proudest achievement was an action figure/sculpture of Steven Spielberg (and wow, that looks so wrong after I've been affectionately spelling his name as Shteeven Schpielborg for the past two months).
But the best part was getting to live in the same country as JAI!!!! Waaaay! It was way past cool. We had sooooooooooo much fun, especially with our doll making. That's something else that needs picture posting of... and I shall as soon as I finish repainting their faces and getting them all nice. Which reminds me.... Jai-ji, we've gotta set up that RP comm!!! I miss you shmooooo ;_;
One big announcement is that I've got dreadlocks now. And NOT like Knux! >.> They look nothing like his and I intend to keep it that way. They stick up and shoot back in a VERY hedgehog-like manner so there's no comparison. They HURT SOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. But they're getting better and I love them. I just hope I'll be able to maintain them. Here's hopin'!
Anyway, I'm home! I came home for a couple weeks back in December for Christmas, but since then it's been five months. My little one-eyed-wonder cat Muki missed me so much!! She came and sat in my lap the second I sat down ;_; it's so amazing how they remember... she's been sleeping on my ever night bed since I left.
Well, I guess that's all for now, gotta go have some breakfast! Yay for summer!!!

Just got over a really bad stomach bug... no icky stuff though, just a lotta pain in the tummy n.n; it was awful. But you know how after you've been in a lot of pain you suddenly feel light as a feather and giddy just because the pain is gone? That's a great feeling XD people should live their lives like they've just gotten over a lot of pain in the tummy. It's good stuff! |

1) I suck my thumb. I thought I'd get that one right out of the way. I have this plusie Ren Hoek from Ren & Stimpy that I've had since I was seven or so and I hold his floppy ear to my nose while I suck my thumb. XD Now I can sit back and watch as all shreds of respect any of you might have for me fall away!
2) I can't stand my belly button being touched... I can't even stand to touch it myself really, it makes me queasy. I've got an inny, by the way.
3) I hate milk. I'm not lactose intolerant, I just can't stand it. I don't like chocolate milk either. When I have cereal, I always have it dry, and when I order cereal at a resturant, if the waitress puts the milk in without asking me, it's officially ruined. And the kicker-- as of yet -- I don't like hot chocolate.
4) I'm a merciless God over my Sims' lives. I own every expansion pack of the Sims 2 and I'm hopelessly addictied to my two boy Sims (Nikki and Miles) and making them perfect. They've been deleted and created more times than I can remember. I once deleted a good 48 hours worth of work (no joke) in that game because I decided Miles' nose was too flat and it was distracting me. It's the one area of my life where I am a complete and utter control freak.
5) I will never be able to sneak up on anyone, ever. There's a loose bone in my foot that clicks every couple of steps when I walk. People always hear me coming. It's very unfortunate.
6) One of my arch enemies is this:  .
I've this fiend seen more times than anyone should ever have to in a lifetime. No, it's not the Cloverfield monster, it's a camel cricket, my arch nemesis, known to me as "Cricket Spider". Their posterior legs peak at about three inches tall, and they can jump about six feet off the ground. In other words, they could jump on your face and eat your eyeballs out and then crawl around inside your scull for a good twenty minutes before getting bored and leaping back off into the night. Otherwise they're harmless.
7) I go to the American Museum of Natural History in NYC just to see the Blue Whale.
